The 2024 Emmy Awards nominations for Outstanding Reporting or Documentary have been announced.
The awards, presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, will be presented over two nights, one honoring winners in the news categories and the other honoring documentary, in September.
The nominees for Best Live News Program are: CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell, ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis, ABC World News Tonight with David MuirCNN Anderson Cooper 360 and the NBC Evening News with Lester Holt.
The nominees for Best Documentary are Elon Musk’s Twitter Takeover; Free Chol Soo Lee; Freedom on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom; A Beautiful Photo, a Beautiful Life; Hidden Letters; January 6; Lakota Nation v. United States; Mourning in Lod; Murder in Boston: Roots, Rampage, and Judgment; And The walk.
“We are honored to shine a spotlight on the accomplishments and hard work of these exceptional journalists and documentarians,” said Adam Sharp, NATAS president and CEO, in a statement. “NATAS is proud to celebrate their dedication and creativity amidst increasing and evolving pressures.”
This year’s Emmy nominees in the News & Documentary category were selected from more than 2,200 nominations that premiered during the 2023 calendar year and judged by more than 980 professionals in the television and streaming/digital media news and documentary industries.
The 45th annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards will be presented at the Palladium Times Square in New York City on September 25 (news) and September 26 (documentaries) and will be broadcast on the NATAS streaming platform. online and via Emmys apps.
