Election heats up ahead of Trump-Harris debate | The Times Of Update

The 2024 presidential election is heating up as ABC News approaches the Sept. 10 debate between former President Trump and Vice President Harris.

Harris arrived in Pittsburgh on Thursday, where she continued to prepare for the upcoming debate. Her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), was on the campaign trail, speaking to voters in the Keystone State. Trump participated in a town hall meeting with Fox News’ Sean Hannity and addressed the national board of directors of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). There, he received an endorsement from the nation’s largest police union.

The upcoming debate between the nominees will likely be the focus of this week’s Sunday talk shows.

Three left-leaning senators are scheduled to appear on various talk shows this week where they will likely discuss the upcoming ABC News debate.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is scheduled to appear on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where he will likely discuss what Harris can do to succeed in her debate and reiterate his message to beat Trump in November.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) is scheduled to appear on CNN’s “State of the Union,” where he will likely discuss how the vice president was received in her home state and how she will perform in the Sept. 10 debate.

Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) is scheduled to appear on CNN’s “Inside Politics Sunday,” where he will likely discuss his reelection campaign against Republican rival Dave McCormick. Casey will also likely discuss the vice president’s performance in the upcoming debate.

The race for the White House is shaping up to be tight, according to the latest polls. As Kamala Harris continues her campaign, Republicans continue to criticize her for changing some of the policy positions she espoused during her 2020 presidential primary campaign.

Some Republicans will likely talk about Harris’ campaign.

Former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who endorsed Trump after dropping out, will likely discuss both candidates’ campaigns before the debate during her scheduled appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), who said this week she would vote for Harris, is scheduled to appear on ABC’s “This Week.” Cheney will likely discuss her decision to vote for the vice president and how she will support the campaign over the final 60 days.
