Harris campaign plans aggressive campaign in key states after Tuesday’s debate with Trump | The Times Of Update

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris plans a four-day stay country trip across key swing states after Democrats win debate tuesday with republican Donald Trump.

Its “New Way Forward” tour will include a new television spot, rallies, canvassing events and programs designed to target large groups of voters, the campaign said Sunday, adding that the tour will culminate at the start of Hispanic Heritage Month on Sept. 15.

In a tight race against the former president, Harris’ campaign believes it has the leverage to win over voters before shifting its focus to turnout as early voting begins ahead of the Nov. 5 election. Trump has also stepped up his outreach efforts with rallies and interviews in seemingly friendly forums.

The period following the Philadelphia debate marks the beginning of an aggressive sprint toward the end of what has been a dramatic race.

“Our campaign will take the vice president’s message directly to voters wherever they are: on the airwaves, door-to-door and online,” said Michael Tyler, the campaign’s communications director. “With so much at stake in this election, we’re going to do it all at full speed on the ground.”

Trump, who campaigned in Wisconsin on Saturday, published on social networks that “when” he wins, anyone he considers to have been “involved in unscrupulous behavior” related to the election “will be sought out, caught and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never before seen in our country.”

After the debate, political leaders will commemorate the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks on Wednesday.

Harris will begin her tour Thursday in North Carolina, and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will be in Michigan. On Friday, Harris will return to Pennsylvania, while Walz will be in Michigan and Wisconsin.

The candidates’ spouses will also be there. Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff will travel to Nevada, Arizona and Florida. Gwen Walz is scheduled to travel to Georgia, New Hampshire and Maine.

More details to come.

Harris’ campaign will launch a new television ad that will showcase her plans to cut taxes for the middle class, limit prescription drug prices and address the housing shortage. The ads are part of a broader $370 million media investment and will be tailored state by state to voters in Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Nebraska.
