LIV Golf has announced the first four dates of its 2025 calendar, and the start of the season will have an international dimension. LIV’s 2025 season will kick off with dates in Saudi Arabia, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.

LIV will make its debut in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, with its 2025 Kickoff Tournament from February 6-8 at Riyadh Golf Club. One week later, from February 14-16, LIV will return to Adelaide, Australia, at Grange Golf Club, the site of LIV’s most popular and vocal event to date, the 2024 Australian leg. Two weeks after that, from March 7-9, LIV will play at Hong Kong Golf Club. One week after that, LIV will travel to Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore for a tournament from March 14-16. The remainder of the LIV schedule, including domestic events, will be announced in the future.

The 2025 Masters will take place from April 10-13; with many players qualifying through previous victories, LIV Golf has structured its schedule to allow players to compete in all the major tournaments.

The structure and timing of the announcement are another indicator of the LIV’s desire to become a much more international circuit than the largely American-run PGA Tour. With golf becoming increasingly popular around the world, particularly in Asia and the Middle East, this strategy is aimed at meeting aspiring golf fans where they are, rather than expecting them to tune in and connect to events that are taking place halfway around the world.

LIV’s schedule will be demanding on players, especially those based in the United States, given all the time zone changes and extensive travel involved. It’s the price to pay for the substantial salaries LIV players have received, despite promises or plans to play less golf and spend more time with their families. LIV clearly presents the image of an organization that is planning for a long-term, internationally-based future.

The Saudi Public Investment Fund, LIV Golf’s backers, and the PGA Tour announced a merger/strategic alignment 15 months ago, but since then there has been no indication that a true unification is imminent. For now, the two parties are moving forward on separate paths and timelines.

Several LIV players remain competitive and compelling even if they are no longer as visible as they once were on the PGA Tour. Bryson DeChambeau is the reigning U.S. Open champion, Jon Rahm was in contention for an Olympic gold medal until the final holes, and Brooks Koepka has a T2 and a major victory since his time at LIV. Yet as popular as the LIV players are and as successful as they have been against their PGA Tour opponents, it is now almost certain that the only time they will cross paths on the PGA Tour as a group in 2025 will be at the four majors.
