All lanes of I-70 reopened after Semi Fire Highway closure in Preble County

All lanes of westbound I-70 in Preble County have reopened after a tractor-trailer caught fire and closed the highway Monday afternoon.

At approximately 3:05 p.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to westbound I-70 past State Route 503 near Lewisburg for reports of a semi-fire .

The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to an area hospital with suspected minor injuries.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher told News Center 7 the highway reopened around 8:30 p.m. and the highway was closed for about 5 hours while crews unloaded the tractor-trailer.

Traffic was stopped for about 10 miles during the cleanup.

News Center 7 is working to find out the cause of the fire.
