At least 18 dead, 32 injured in Mexico bus crash

(Reuters) – A bus crash on the outskirts of Mexico City killed 18 people on Sunday and injured 32 others, according to Mexico’s state civil protection agency.

The accident occurred in Malinalco, in the southern region of the state of Mexico, which surrounds the capital on three sides, when a bus traveling from San Luis de la Paz, in the state of Guanajuato, to the center of Mexico, at the Chalma Sanctuary, south of Mexico City, overturned. Highway.

Fourteen people were killed instantly, while four others died later in hospital, according to Mexico’s Secretary of State Security.

Local media broadcast images of people providing water and blankets to relatives of the accident victims. State prosecutors in Mexico and Guanajuato said they were helping the bereaved families.
