Courteney Cox dances to Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen

Courteney Cox recreated her “Dancing in the Dark” dance for a TikTok trend.

In recent weeks, TikTokers have asked their mothers how they danced in the 1980s and posted videos, many of which are accompanied by Bronski Beat’s 1984 song “Smalltown Boy.”

Cox, of course, got his start by appearing in the 1984 video for Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark.” (She only appeared in one episode of As the world turns before being cast in his video.)

On TikTok, she made fun of her dancing in the 1984 video while participating in one of the latest trends. Cox took to the social media platform to share a video — captioned “1980s dancing…in the dark” — featuring her dancing to “Smalltown Boy.” On the video are the words: “Ask my mom how she danced in the 80s.”

After a few seconds, she shakes her head, as if to say “no,” and takes off her sweatshirt to reveal the same Bruce Springsteen T-shirt she wore in the video for “Dancing in the Dark.”

Doing similar moves to what she does in this video, her TikTok video then cuts to Springsteen’s. The latter would prove to be a landmark role for the actress, who would become a big star with roles in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, THE Shout frankness and, of course, Friends.
