Emily Blunt realizes the reality of filming romantic scenes with other on-screen celebrities, even if she doesn’t really like them.
In a recent interview on The Howard Stern ShowEmily shared her views on her co-workers’ chemistry and her experience filming kissing scenes.
“I had chemistry with people I didn’t like,” Scapegoat said the star. “I’ve had chemistry with people who… I didn’t have a good time working with them.”
“Sometimes it’s a weird thing. Sometimes you can have a relationship that’s really effortless, but it doesn’t translate on screen. Chemistry is this weird thing. It’s an ethereal thing that you can’t really bottle and buy or sell.”
Emily, married to another actor and director John Krasinski, added that chemistry is not something you can really teach. Either it’s there or it’s not.
Emily didn’t reveal the names of the people she didn’t like on set, but she did reveal that there were instances with her costars that “absolutely” made her want to throw up.
“I wouldn’t say it’s any kind of extreme hatred, but I certainly didn’t appreciate some of it.”
Emily’s filmography is filled with kisses shared with her famous counterparts – from Jason Segel to Cillian Murphy. I doubt we’ll ever know who she was referring to, but that won’t stop fans from speculating.
