Regional gas prices rose Monday for the second straight week to an average of $3.43 per gallon for regular fuel, up from last week’s price of $3.42 per gallon, according to Energy Information United States Administration.
The average price of fuel in the Lower Atlantic region has increased by about 6 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices in the region over the past year have been as low as $2.88 on December 18, 2023 and as high as $3.66 on August 7, 2023.
A year ago, the average gasoline price in the Lower Atlantic region was 0% lower, at $3.42 per gallon.

The average gas price in the United States last week was $3.65, making prices in the Lower Atlantic region about 6.2% lower than the national average. The national average gas price is down from last week’s average of $3.67 per gallon.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s tally of prices in the Lower Atlantic states includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
