Hunter Biden’s addiction has devastated his family. Has your family experienced similar misfortunes?

Hunter Biden, the president’s son, is on trial in federal court for falsely claiming on a gun purchase application that he did not use illegal drugs. Testimonies from his ex-wife and former girlfriends describe his drug-fueled temper; his search for his dealer in the streets; his large withdrawals of money from the bank.

Hallie Biden, the widow of his brother Beau who dated him in fall 2018 at the time of the gun purchase, spoke about his erratic behavior, his possession of crack rocks “the size of a ping-pong ball, or bigger, perhaps.” ” and how she frantically urged him to go to rehab. Like Mr. Biden, she is recovering.

I write about addiction for The New York Times and have spoken with countless families who have shared heartbreaking experiences. I’m working on a story about how the Bidens’ addiction saga is impacting families who are also grappling with America’s deadly drug addiction crisis.

To better understand the public’s evolving views of addiction, I would love to hear your stories. I will read each response and contact you if I would like to know more. I will not post any part of your response without tracking and verifying your information. And I will not share your contact information outside of the Times newsroom or use it for any purpose other than to contact you..
