The best Mother’s Day flowers to order online in 2024 — buy yours before it’s too late!

Your mother deserves the best – and that rings true for the Mother’s Day flowers you’ll inevitably send her. It’s true, even the mom who says she doesn’t want gifts for Mother’s Day will happily receive a bouquet of fresh flowers. Therein lies the problem: you don’t want to risk sending an arrangement that has seen better days, especially on an occasion as special as Mother’s Day. To avoid disappointment in the form of droopy, sad flowers, opt for one of these tried-and-true online flower delivery services instead. Flowers ship quickly, which is good for procrastinators who still haven’t reserved a gift for mom. But these other last-minute Mother’s Day gifts we found also ship quickly.

As someone who has sent her mother her fair share of flowers over the years, I know all too well the pressure of choosing the right bouquet. That’s why I took matters into my own hands and put eight of the best flower delivery services to the test in the weeks leading up to Mother’s Day. My goal: to find the most beautiful Mother’s Day flowers that are not only beautiful, but worthy of the moms, mothers-in-law and grandmothers who matter most.

Chances are you won’t receive a Mother’s Day bouquet that looks exactly like the one you ordered online. However, it is in your (and your mother’s) best interest. All these online flower delivery services prioritize freshness and quality over selection of colors and flowers. 1-800-Flowers, for example, uses local florists to fulfill orders, meaning flower varieties may differ by location. This means that there is never a guarantee that it will be the same, but rest assured, it will always be eye-catching.

Variety of flowers: Roses, Limonium, mums and asters Matsumoto | Features: Delivered in a glass cube vase

1-800-Flowers brought the wow factor with this pink and purple mix. In fact, it looked almost identical to the photos online, which is a rare feat, especially since they have a disclaimer on their site that local florists often have to use “different flower types, colors, and replacement containers to give you the freshest flowers available.” In fact, you can tell it was made with love and care (another claim from 1-800-Flower): the stems were fresh, full, and, well, full of life. No drooping leaves, no browned edges, just a bouquet of beautiful flowers.

The only downside is that I considered sending the same arrangement to my mother for Mother’s Day, but it wasn’t available in her area. It’s a bit disappointing, but at least they have a wide selection!

A note on delivery: Delivery dates vary by location. It may pay to have your Mother’s Day bouquet delivered earlier: an additional fee is charged for deliveries between May 10 and 12.
