‘Twisters’ Features Incredible Action Sequences

Great action involves great effort. Glen Powell revealed “one of the most incredible action sequences of all time” in this summer’s film. Twistscoming July 19.

The actor recounted his experience filming the storm sequence in a Sciencecome on, this is the big ticket interview, which he says “all happens in one shot.” The appearance was linked to the film’s tickets going on sale.

“We shot this in December, with a rain machine,” Powell says in the clip. “One of the coldest nights I have ever experienced, when I was dragged across a swimming pool by a cable. I think it’s the most physical thing I’ve ever done.

Daisy Edgar-Jones, Powell’s Twists co-star, is “completely on board,” she says.

“You’re talking about humans being pulled into a tornado,” Powell continues. “But you recreate what it’s like to be hit by debris and all that. So you watch real stuntmen get sucked into the sky, you watch trucks cross [the field]you jump in a pool and you get pulled in… it’s a completely physical experience because the investment you have to have as an actor is like it can’t be delicate.

THE Anyone but you The star adds: “It can’t be gentle. Tornadoes are not kind. You have to put your body on the line to sell this experience.

He concluded by saying that the entire cast of Twisters impressed him with their complete investment in the action.

Lee Isaac Chung’s sequel to Jan de Bont’s 1996 Tornado will also star Kiernan Shipka, David Corenswet, Sasha Lane, Maura Tierney, Katy O’Brian, Brandon Perea, Daryl McCormack, Harry Hadden-Paton, Nik Dodani and Tunde Adebimpe.

The Legacy sequel will follow the characters created by Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin, who wrote the 1996 film. Patrick Crowley, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg are the producers of Twists.
