Nominees for arts, children/youth and entertainment

On Thursday, the Peabody Awards jury revealed the 27 nominees in the Arts, Children/Youth, Entertainment, Interactive and Immersive categories. The recognized programs were chosen by a unanimous vote of 32 jurors from more than 1,100 television, podcast/radio and Web programs in the fields of entertainment, information, documentary, arts, children’s/children’s youth, public service and multimedia.

Judy Blume Forever, Little Richard: I’m Everything, Bluey, The Bear, Travel Companions, Jury Duty And The last of us were among the announced nominees, which include the themes of women’s health, the justice system and the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, among other hot topics. PBS leads the nominations with 11 nominations, followed by HBO/Max with eight, Netflix with four, The Washington Post and Amazon MGM Studios with three each, and FX and Meta with two each.

“Whether it’s a hilarious comedy, a captivating interactive experience, or a heartwarming children’s show, Peabody is dedicated to honoring the most compelling stories across the media landscape,” said Jeffrey Jones, Executive Director of Peabody, in a press release. “Each of this year’s 68 nominees deserves recognition for telling unique stories that have profound impact and capture our imagination.”

Nominees in the Documentary, News, Public Service and Radio/Podcast categories were announced Tuesday.

The winners of the 84th Peabody Awards will be announced on May 9, then celebrated on Sunday, June 9, during a ceremony at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. This will be Peabody’s first in-person ceremony since 2019, as well as the first time the awards show will take place in Los Angeles.
