Person arrested during Northeastern’s opening ceremony at Fenway Park

A little more than a week after the arrest of more than 100 pro-Palestinian protesters on Northeastern’s campus, a person who tried to disrupt Sunday’s commencement ceremony was arrested, officials said. school in Boston 25.

“This afternoon, at Northeastern University’s undergraduate graduation ceremony, nearly 30,000 people celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2024. An individual who attempted to disrupt the ceremony was quickly apprehended and arrested by police,” said Renata Nyul, vice president for communications at Northeastern University.

Earlier this weekend, three current Northeastern University students told Boston 25 that they were facing 30 to 40 hours of community service and were still awaiting possible disciplinary action from the ‘school.

“Trespassing and rioting/refusing to disperse,” student Ben said citing his accusations. “It was crazy that our school preferred to do that…rather than come to the table and even talk about our demands.” »

Boston police were unable to provide any information regarding the arrest because the police report had not yet been completed.
